A pre-1895 Yorkshire Hussar in Undress

This Carte de Visite displays the characteristic regimental dark blue jacket, adorned with distinctive white braiding and five rows of buttons.

The pill-box forage cap is scarlet with a white band (and top button). The white and crimson Hussar barrel sash (yellow and crimson for NCOs) will have been abolished  by 1895 for ranks below sergeant.
