11th (Prince Albert's Own) Hussars

The German Crown Prince as Colonel-in-Chief of the 11th Hussars

The Kronprinz was appointed Colonel of the 11th Hussars on 18 may 1911.

This photo shows some distinctive elements of the 11th Hussars uniform :
- Busby plume of white osprey feathers, lower third covered with crimson feathers ;
- Plaited busby cords.
- Specific "V" shaped collar.
- The trousers are crimson instead of the usual dark blue - but the difference doesn't show here.

Friedrich Wilhelm does not sport a sabretache because they were discontinued in 1902 for officers.

The postcard wrongly states that he's in the uniform of the "1st Hussars".
